Given that you don't have her there on every other weekend and she clearly is still holding in her stools you need to clean her out before she goes home for a weekend. So if she goes home after school on Friday she needs enemas to clean her out Thursday night, soapsuds then rinses. And you now know you need to see that she has a bowel movement every night she is with you regardless of what she tells you she did at school. This is probably why she ended up in the hospital for a naso-gastric lavage clean out at the boarding school. They were taking her word that she was stooling and then she got badly impacted and they couldn't even get an enema in her to get it to come out. One of my grandsons who is totally against enemas because he hated them growing up has a 10 year old daughter who is a holder. She has been to the hospital three times in two years for those oral clean outs. And just like you said, they are laying there in bed, in diapers because they have the laxative tube up through their nose and an IV in their arm and they often can't feel the liquid coming out of them to ask a nurse to put them on a bed pan in time. That is real trauma, in diapers runny stools constantly coming out of you into your diaper and different shift male and female nurses for a day or two coming and cleaning your bottom up and putting a dry diaper on you! I can remember many times going to the bathroom basically to not get caught holding and sitting on the floor right next to the toilet and breathing, holding, until the cramps stopped then standing up, flushing the toilet like I used the bathroom but really didn’t and then just walked out. I would basically constipate myself until the pain to go was unbearable for a child my age. Then there were times I smeared as well. The enemas forced me to bear the pain until I either helped push it out or I relaxed enough that the soap took over and took control. I hated going to the toilet mainly because of the pain associated with having a bowel movement. [ Post a Reply to This Message ]

It is almost as unthinking as breathing for her. I get it. I'm trying to keep her clean at least. But I get little help from her at all. I hated enemas growing up as I have shared many times in my personal accounts. But mom was standing on her word though and didn’t back down. I wasn’t helping matters either by holding and not wanting to go but mom forced me to go by giving me enemas which I could not fight or stop the urges. Keep doing what you are doing.
