Subject: IEEE 1394 D-VHS to PC connection?

Is there any way to connect a D-VHS deck to a PC that has a FireWire/IEEE 1394 port? I would like to have a software application that would simply dump digital video from a D-VHS tape or directly from a digital satellite broadcast straight to a file on my hard drive, or the other way around. I'd also like to be able to edit the video and mix/match clips with those from my digital camcorder which all ready has a IEEE 1394 connection to my PC.
