What's your Recorder? Or do you drill a new hole into your cassettes, that your recorder recognizes them as S-VHS? I bought a JVC HM-DR 10000 EU early on (December 1999) and can use, beyond D-VHS Tapes, (good) S-VHS tapes only. And that makes senes to me, because even with worse S-VHS tapes there are errors (S-VHS tapes which cost app. 5 Euro - I use BASF S-VHS for app. 8 Euro and have no errors).
