No.
DVHS is far too fragile (some would say finicky) a format to be implemented into mobile gear.
See the size of the JVC and Philips units? They get pretty warm, too - no way that would fit into a portable.

Furthermore, DVHS is 1/2" tape and, unless you want to go back to the weighty and bulky portable vcr's of the early 80s... forget it.

DVHS is a great format - but it is like it is.
And it seems to 'be' only in Japan now, a bit in the US (still?) and... disarmingly buried in Europe.

Also, there are so many formats for camcorders:
8, HI8, Digital8, DV, MiniDV, their various pro offsprings, the new one from Sony (even smaller than miniDV!), and probably more offsprings of these to come.

Don't think there would be much room for another one, specially since DVHS has halas failed because of a too long-awaited launch and overpriced first models...

still, keep the faith :-)
