Subject: S-VHS DVD-R Combo?

A good friend of mine has a tape that he markets on the internet. After re-doing his S-VHS master again he is interested in finding a new faster alternative. Is there any COMBO hardware out there that will allow him to do this? I found the JVC Mini DV to DVD-R combo. I have been unable to find a S-VHS to DVD-R combo. Please help. Or if he has to use a stand-alone DVD-R and link it up to his S-VHS and copy that way. Will there be any loss of quality doing it this way? Any things to be aware when transferring from one media to the other??
Thank you,
Isaac
