Robin,
After reading your letter I was suprised that you had such a bad time. Everything was taken care of for me. Lillianna picked me up at the airport and took me to her hotel. It was simple and clean and she made us breakfast in the morning. She then took us to the bus station, bought our bus ticket, and sent us off. My wife was a little nervous about the san jose part of the trip but lillianna took care of us.
We traveled over a 10,000 ft. pass and arrived in san isidro de general and were picked up by johnny the taxi driver. He dropped us off at tortilla flats, great food and has a small bar where the locals hang out. It was dark when we arrived so in the morning when we woke up we were amazed at the landscape. The waves were big and Erin was pretty scared but our instructor Matt assured us that the beach we were going to surf was much smaller and more gentle. We went to dominicalito and it was great. I had a lot harder time standing up than Erin, but by the end of my second lesson I was popping up alot easier. The water temperature was to die for and the tropical landscape was so breathtaking. Not wanting to leave, johnny took us back to san isidro, bought our bus ticket, and lillianna took us to the airport from the bus station. Green Iguana Surf Camp was a great experience and we will definitely come back as soon as we can get away from our overbearing jobs.
