Killing a human being changes you forever. Torturing another human being warps your soul. There you stand, gazing down at another living, human being, who is reduced to begging and pleading with you for their life. And you get to enjoy a moment of immense power - you get to enjoy the feeling of what it might be to be a god. To hold someone's life in your hand and to extinguish it. Who have we seen torturing people in BtVS before? Drusilla. Angelus. Faith. Marcus. Vamp Willow. Only one of those has been redeemed. There is a difference between murder and sadism.

One thing about the Giles murdering Ben - you can see that he got no pleasure from it. Indeed, he just showed that he was prepared to commit the crime that he asked Buffy to do, by asking her to kill Dawn. It always seemed to me that he stood prepared to be reduced to the level of an Angelus or a Spike in order to save his world, and that it was a desperate moral journey. And he did not want to do it.

I imagine that Willow will be taking pleasure from killing Warren. And given the level of magical ability she now shows (getting a bullet out of Buffy), how is it out of the realm of possibility that she could successfully disable Warren in someway?
