You say nothing can get much worse than Buffy diving off the tower. Yes they can. What gets really unbearable is not what happens to people but what they do.

I'm repeating myself from other posts I've made, but Buffy this season has been a sadistic abuser to Spike, physically, verbally, and emotionally and has never admitted it, or repented about it, or apologized about it, to anyone. (All she admitted to Tara was that she has used him for sex; not at all the same thing). My guess is that she will never do so, as the writers are about to issue her a "get out of jail free card" in "Seeing Red". After that, the poor pathetic victim will obviously, in the audience's and writers' minds, never owe an apology about Spike to anyone. Except me. And I'm not excusing the rape attempt for one single second. I'm just saying it ought to be considered as totally separate from Buffy's own horrendous perpetrations, but probably won't be.

I don't know how to say this without being bashy, but as a result of her combined abusiveness and inability and unwillingness to recognize or apologize for the fact that it has been she, and not Spike, who is the monster in their relationship, I really hate her. If she ever acknowledges those facts, I'll be able to care about her again. Right now, I don't see it ever happening, and as stupid as it is, it depresses the hell out of me.
