I am currently reading 'The Fellowship of the Ring" right now. I read it when I was younger but never read the others. After the movie I decided to give it another try. For me, I enjoyed the movie a lot more than I am the book. Imo, the movie made all the right cuts. For example, if Tom Bombadil had appeared in the movie, singing and dancing and all, I probably would have laughed myself right out the door. That whole part of the book seemed to silly to me. Also the Ringwraiths seem like weenies in the book. They were much more threating in the movie for me.
