Dale, why do you argue in this fashion? You can never just stick to what is being said. You are relating the police discussion to this? What power do they have? Yes, they have power over us when they pull us over, and guess what, they are not always so morally restrained are they? So, any conflict you see is purely in your own mind and would do better to stay there.

Why can't you just use logic to combat logic, rather than flying off on some tangential thought that may or may not even address the subject at hand?

Your method of arguing could better be: I disagree with you, and here is why.

As it is now, your method is: I disagree with you but I am going to delete my argument in favor of becoming emotional and bombarding you with unsupportive nonevidence.
