Subject: And we have a quiet message board...

Anyone have anything worth talking or debating about? What is going on in the world that is controversial?

Hmmm....

How about gay marriages? That has been in the news a lot lately. I am for them.

Marriage in general?

I think marriages should have a four year license that can be renewed if both parties are willing. Although I am sure divorce lawyers would hate this, as the license could then be handled through contract law, I think it would have benefits. First you would start the license with a contract, agreeing to duties, rights, etc. If a party doesn't live up to the agreement, then there is a breach of contract, and the contract becomes voidable. If either party does not want to renew the contract, then it is not renewed. Children would be in the original contract (who gets to keep them, etc.), and would be aware that marriage is not permanent, and would end most of the trauma associated with divorcing parents. Sexual frequency can also be outlined in the contract, and if a spouse doesn't live up to that... breach of contract again... with appropriate penalties outlined in the original contract.
