This was last week, and I talked to friends in DC, in NYC who discussed what they saw. I know one said it was spooky and nerve-wracking seeing the police with "large guns"( ie machine guns) on all the streets. The soldiers were out and about, doing random searches of areas closing them off (!) and people when they approached DC often were turned back due to the "Searches" and "emergency."

Sad that most people did not hear what was going on. Sad too is that it was not really reported. But what is sadder is that it was done and seemed to be a successful operation.
