There are schools that allow children to seek out there own education. Should this not be the role of good educators? That is, to allow students to seek their own education? Handing students only what we think they need seems contrary to how children respond to things. I was fed religion social studies and science, none of which I enjoyed or pursued as an adult. Now, if we think only of creating dutiful people who fit nicely into corporate niches and consumer cliches, then we can easily find a curriculum. I just think I would have had a much happier life in high school, for instance, if I had been allowed to study under Mr. Lindsey for my duration there. :) As it was, I hated high school and benefited little from it. This is not the case with everyone, of course, but it would have helped a student like me.
