I must ask a few things, however. Who decides who is settling for less? And less of what? When you say you are making your life better, what does that mean? How was it so bad? A professor at Harvard might think you have settled for a measly teaching job at a business college, but you might see this as really achieving. (I do not mean this disparagingly, mind you. I am very happy for you in your job.) But, it does sort of batter down the walls of what "achieving" means. It is basically just a personal thing, isn't it? And as such, who are we to judge who has "settled" and who has not? Perhaps settling is a very pleasant way to live?
