Donald - I don't know where you live, but assuming you live in Columbus like most of the rest of the people on this forum, you can recycle plastic and paper in Columbus - there's a city drop-off point by the Cosco plant on Gladstone off of State street - I think they're open on Saturdays. Call the City for more info.

If you live in Indy you can recycle paper and cardboard off of West street downtown. You can drop of recycling at all kinds of Kroger stores all over the city. Or, you can get RAy's recycling to pick up plastic (#1 & #2 only, though), cans, steel and paper at your house every other week like we do. It cut down on our garbage by about 2/3 (We further recycle by using large store plastic bags rather than store-bought bags whenever possible).

Every once in a while, I take a Kroger bag out and pick up all of the garbage in my neighborhood that I run across while I walk the dog. Most of it goes right into the recycling bin.
