I was afraid that I was going to be misunderstood - I tend to write thinking that I don't need to explain certain things because everyone must already know what I'm thinking so that I don't have to state it because its already obvious.

I've never stated that your intelligence as a youth was lacking - merely perspective on the events that were transpiring around you. Alas, this is the fatal flaw of all youth. I was stating that the perspective that you use to comment on church (and I must re-state that church is so much more than services, which can be boring) is the perspective you had as a youth - it can be no other since you have not attended a church with any regularity since your youth.

"But do you honestly think that if I started going to church I would suddenly realize the deeper implications of it? This is a rather poor assumption. Church services only hold meaning for those that believe in Jesus, not for those that don't. My butt is still going to be just as sore..." - MVD

Of course your butt will be just as sore - and I never meant to imply that it would hold any meaning for you. That would be the height of silliness. My Whole Point is that you have no concept of what it is to be an active adult member of a congregation. Just being a member without belief would be strange, rather pointless avocation.
