Oh...! Now that I read it again I see that she was bred at the facility and not bred by Mr. Spock - which would make him a most unwholesome character.

I think the top 10 author, whomever he/she was was making fun of the similarity of all of the names (Vince, Vance. Ed, Ted. Ted, Fred. etc.)

Saavik is a weird feature in the movies - she's intimately involved in Spock's family and life, yet we know little of this from the movies. Yet, she was deemed important enough to keep when the original actress decided to abandon the character...

Most illogical.

BTW - nice of you to read my little posting w/such detail!
