She could have been more forthcoming about her feelings. I'm not saying it's your opinion. I just think she is unclear what her values are, at the point she should be clear as crystal. Just because we all got a kick out of the whole Buffy-Angel thing (and I admit, so did I), doesn't mean the nod towards nostalgia is warranted here.

She knew what Spike meant when he said it was the best night of his life. She owed him a little more honesty than what she gave him.

Angel left her to go to LA, partially because the Mayor, way back in S3, asked him what would happen when he stayed the same and she got old and died. His reasons for leaving were not so altruistic as giving her the opportunity to live out her life and perform her necessary function as the slayer.

She owed Spike a lot of respect here and has made a bad choice in my book. In Joss' book, it will be a hit I'm sure.
