First of all, Angel didn't leave because it suddenly dawned on him that Buffy would someday grow old and get wrinkles, as you seem to suggest. He left because staying around wasn't fair to Buffy. I think he was a f@#king idiot to leave for those reasons, but that's what they were. Also, let's not forget that Spike TOLD Buffy that he didn't want or expect anyhting from her...that night, Buffy needed someone, and seeing as her friends abandoned her, Spike was the guy. It was nice, it was special, but it wasn't love. As for Spike getting his soul back, wouldn't that constantly remind Buffy of a certain someone? How could she possibly have meaningful relationship with Spike, and not Angel?

Nor is it so unrealistic for Buffy get smootchie with Angel with all the adrenaline pumping, etc. I'm sure that they would have just shaken hands if they met at the supermarket, but this was like old times. As for leading Spike on, Buffy repeatedly told him that she didn't love him romantically. Don't worry though, I suspect in the finale that Joss will find a way to ruin this moment as well.
