And I think this reunion with Angel is about more than nostalgia, "back to the beginning" has been stressed this entire season--and Angel played an extremely large role in the beginning of Buffy's life as a slayer--in her life period. She has shown that she respects Spike--she kept him around when he was dangerous and defended him to EVERYONE. Again I stress that she owes him a lot--but should not have to say she loves him just becasue he loves her--who would want that? I feel that she was honest with Spike--maybe he wanted her to say more--but that's not what honesty is--it's not saying what u think the other person wants to hear.
And, Angel's reasons for leaving were anything but self centered. He gave her up twice--once by leaving Sunnydale and the other by giving up humanity and being the only one with the knowledge of that loss so that he could help her fight instead of being a liability to her.
She has shown that she respects Spike--but she still loves Angel--who can u blame for that??
