I dont agree with what this guys saying but i think spike has had a helping hand in bringing the show down, think about it, the show used to be about losers trying to save the world, giles xander buffy and willow where all losers, but thats why us fans loved them,because we could relate, then spike came along and all of a sudden all the writers seemed to care about was how cool spike was, and in doing so changed the whole scooby gangs opinions of being losers, suddenly being a loser wasnt cool, prime example, in season 7 how many of the scooby gang, xander buffy dawn willow and even giles, made fun of andrew being a loser and nerd,
And another thing about spike, the writers make him cool etc, but what worries me is that even after spike got his soul, he hit 3 women, these where buffy, anya and faith go back and check if you dont believe me), is this what the writers think a person with a soul should be doing?Is this what the writers think is cool? or that all the cool people should do? I think the writers got so wrapped up in thinking of cool things for spike to do, that they didnt realise that he was taking over most of the season, think about season 7, how many episodes where about spike? more than youd think, nearly all the episodes in that season had him given more lines and screentime than xander, willow, dawn, giles and anya(apart from selfless), most of the season buffy was either trying to get him out of the basement, trying to get him away fromn the ubervamp(this was a guy who not a few months earlier had tried to rape her), trying to help him and his chip malfunction,him training the potentials, him saving the world at the end, the whole of season seven was about spike, i mean look at the last word buffy says in the end of the entire series, "spike" (this was her last line in chosen)
