I have seen the pilot, I have it on vcd. And no, CC asked to audition for Buffy--they wanted her to be Cordelia---actually they wanted SMG to audition for Cordelia as well, but she pleaded to try for Buffy. Julie Benz auditioned for Buffy as well. The girl who played Kendra was first offered the role of Cordelia--but later turned it down. Of course now we can't imagine anyone else as Buffy--and up until the past 3 or 4 years I really liked SMG--I just think she's let the fame of Buffy go to her head and now feels as though she's owed something. The show with it's great writing and cool supporting actors (and the cult status) has made SMG increasingly famous. I just think it would more noble of her to acknowledge that.
