Saeven shrugs. She hadn't thought of a where. It never really mattered to her; she just travels. "We can figure that out as we go along, can't we?" she asks. "Unless there's somewhere either of you two need to go..."

Miryam calls after Deirdre, "We might. But I wasn't going to stay here long, anyway. If you wouldn't mind me going with you?"

She walks out of the inn in time to hear Tarkin. "Yes, where -are- we going?" Her mind instantly runs to the vision of her own small home in the forest with a pang of longing, but the idea of strangers there seemed very wrong. She would just have to wait to return later.

Saeven smiles faintly, initially Tarkin's commitment reassures her. But then she remembers that nothing's changed, and her eyes look down for a moment, in shame or something akin to it. She shouldn't have made herself known to him. But it's too late now for that.

"No, I wouldn't have asked you to come if I didn't want you to," she says, looking back up at him, with a bit of a grin as she adds, "silly Human. And you're not all so judgemental. Just the stupid ones. But I won't guess on how many that may be."

She looks back over to Deirdre. "Besides, I don't think we'll be coming here again. I don't much like it here, and she seems eager to leave, too."

She walks into the inn, and stands a bit away from Miryam. She clears her throat nervously, eyeing the cougar and the very large barbarian. "Um, Miryam, I'm going to leave now. With the...Phooka." The word sounded strange and foreign to her. "I enjoyed traveling with you, as short as it was... Perhaps we may meet again." She half-smiles, then turns to walk back out.

"So I'm assuming she no longer thinks you're a demon..." Tarkin says. "I had met her and another woman a distance from the town and we came here together... I was rather surprised when she called you a demon she didn't seem like the sort that would do that. I guess that's what comes from being around humans... we're too judgemental."

He smiles a bit bitterly but it passes quickly. The man pushes himself off of the wall and stands normally looking at Saeven.

He shrugs finally and speaks, "I'd gladly follow you, Saeven. I meant what I said before and that hasn't changed... but if you don't want me to come or if this is a 'non-human' thing I won't try to force you to let me come with you."

Saeven's bright green eyes glance up to the returned Tarkin. She gives a little smile to him—or to herself?—before turning back to Deirdre. "Go ahead and find your companions if you'd rather. I wouldn't want to seperate you from them. And it won't be a catastrophe if we're held up a bit. I have to go talk to someone before we go."

She dips away from Deirdre for the moment, moving quietly over to Tarkin. For a moment, she doesn't say anything, just looks up at him. She still isn't sure if she shouldn't have just left... so he wouldn't have to bother about it. But she knows that would upset him more. "The other phooka," she finally starts, "Deirdre. I don't think she's comfortable here. We're going to go..." she trails off, thinking of where they're going; she finally resolves to just wave her hand towards the forest, "we're just going to go. I don't like it much here, either. You don't have to come, of course, I just thought... Well, it's up to you, Tarkin."

Miryam rolls her eyes. She doesn't want to deal with this great, stupid hulk. She definitely doesn't want him following her around. Maybe she should have just killed him...

"Fine," she retorts, "if I mean that much to you now, take my word and believe that I'm better off without you in my debt. I did not kill you because I did not want your blood on your hands, not because I wanted a man-slave."

As if to emphasize her point, Amadeus, still a huge, muscular couger, gives a low and menacing growl. His large amber eyes fixed on Beorn, as if challenging the man to go against Miryam's will.

"No, I don't want the opportunity to pass me by..." Tarkin says with a nod and rises to his feet.

He smiles slightly and takes Rose's hand and gently kisses it.

"Thank you for listening to me, Rose. I'm sure someday you're going to make someone very happy..." he says with a friendly smile. "Well until we meet again."

The man turns and leaves the room quickly walking down the hall and slipping through the common room to the door. Once outside he looks around for Saeven, new hope burning in his veins.

"I'll find a way for us to be together, Saeven. I swear it..." he whispers to himself.

He spots Saeven and Deirdre but doesn't make a move to join them not wanting to intrude on their conversation. A faint smile plays across his lips as he goes back to his leaning against the inn waiting.

Grant smile. The fight is over. And he helped. He was a tough man. He was in a barfight, just like tough men were. Yeah. Tough man. But ouch! Shoulder hurt, arm hurt, face cut . . .

He looks on at Beorn and Miryam, wanting to say something but doesn't. He sprawls in a booth trying to gather some energy so he can stagger up stairs and go to sleep.

"Well," Saeven looks over her shoulder, back at the inn, "feel free to go find them. I don't want to seperate you from your companions." She wasn't sure if she should say that she had to go find someone, too. Does she need to go find Tarkin? True, he said he didn't want her gone, but is it really fair of her to bind him to a woman he can't have? She sighs, unsure. "Go 'head and find them," she finally says.

"I don't want anything of you," Miryam responds, "and you owe me no debt. I would have shown the same decency to any creature."

"No," Rose laughs, shaking her head at Tarkin, "I'm fine. But really, you shouldn't be up here. Not with everything and all. If there's something you can do about it, you should find out what it is and do it. I mean, you don't want the opportunity to pass you up."

Rose grins, adding, "But I'm always here for a good time if it doesn't work out."

Saeven smiles, glad to get the opportunity to talk to Deirdre. She's not sure she wants to do it here, though, in a human town. And within the sound of church bells. She doesn't want the girl to be constantly reminded of all the lies fed to her.

"Not here," she says, "I don't like it much here, and I don't always trust small, devout people. We can talk in the forest, when we're away from here."

She pauses, then asks, "Are you traveling with anyone?"

"Only for you to live out your life," Miryam answers tortly, "though perhaps a little more humbly and respectfully. You don't own the world, you know."

Rose's attention is glued on Tarkin, absolutely sucked into his story. "It's not pathetic at all," she says, "it's...it's...romantic!"

She heaves a small sigh, looking away. She would never find such devotion in a man. She's just a wench. Men look to her for one thing.

"So...umm..." she says a little awkwardly, "what are you doing hanging around up here?"

"If you're a warrior," Miryam retorts, "you must face your opponents decision with courage and honour. NHow get up."

Her eyes stay on him steadily, not about to give up.

Saeven smiles at Deirdre. "Will you just stay with me for a bit, Deirdre? So I can explain to you?"

She shrugs helplessly. Her whole world was being turned up-side-down, once again, and her mind was spinning... She should have stayed in her comfortably lonley forest.
"I do not know why... I don't know how to believe anyone any more," she says with a sigh. "I have always hoped to not be what I have been told I am, but before now, I have never been offered any proof." She looks at Saeven pleadingly. "I do not know what, or who, I am anymore..."

"Well it's a pleasure to meet you, Rose." Tarkin says with a warm smile.

He looks thoughtful at the woman's question but doesn't answer right away. What is he going to do? The business with Rose and the other woman had distracted him before.

"I don't really know." he says finally with a soft laugh at himself. "I suppose that's rather stupid of me... I say I'm not going to accept the current situation and yet I don't have the slightest idea of how to change it. It's rather pathetic really."

Miryam jumps back as her sword slashes into Beorn's legs, not wanting to be in his path if he falls. She takes the quick opportunity, too, to trip him up, garunteeing his fall. ((have permission for the following)) She braces herself as the huge man hits the ground. Deftly, she darts up, one foot on his chest and the tip of her blade pressed close against his jugular.

A broad, sardonic smirk sweeps across her face as she leans on the sword hilt, her hazle eyes shining down at Beorn.

"What was this about women's places again?"

"Rose," the wench answers quickly. She fidgets, a little, for the first time self-conscious ina man's prescense. So sweet! "That's... umm... so very unfortunate about your girl. What are you going to do?"

Saeven watches Deirdre carefully, still a little taken off-gaurd by the ignorance (no offence intended) of the other phooka. "If I'm the same as you," she asks, "why would I try to trick you?"

She zooms out into the crowded bar and talks with the barkeep for a few moments before zooming back into the hallway with Dortamis. "I talked to the barkeep and he says, that he'll think about letting you guard here. He seemed specially keen on it since there is a fight taking place right now. Not that he cares, he just doesn't want any furniture broken. But he says he wants to talk to you first!"

Grant moves his head back to avoid some of the blow, but the axe still slashs across the upperpart of his left cheek. He grimaces in pain while backing out of Miryam's way.

Mary smiles and laughs. "Well I'm sure I would have been more than greatful, whatever the thanks would have been." She lowers her eyes and curtises allowing Dortomis another view of her chest.

Beorn turns and swings the axe down towards Grant's head at (seemingly) impossible speed for an object that heavy, not really caring if he gets hit with a tiny stool or not. Not even noticing Miryam dashing in.

As a stroke of luck Grant moves his face just in time. He quickly grabs a stool and swings in at Beorn.

Beorn scowls, as the smaller man's fist slams into his side, no doubt leaving a sizeable bruise. "Right, that does it."

He turns, and punches right at Grant's face (hopefully hitting him)

Grant wretchs his wrist out of Beorn's hand and punches the him with his other hand using all the strength he has left.

Mary looks at Rose and Tarkin. She smiles as him, "I am very very sorry. It sounds like you've had a very tough time. I don't understand something though, if you can't be together than why all the resistance?" She isn't really looking for an answer. Rose seems content upon winning the man over. But Mary really isn't. She doesn't think she can make his problem any better.

Mary leaves the room tossing the key to Rose. Walking down the hallway she bumps into Dortomas. She smiles at him,"Oh, Hello again."

Ouch. Pain. Face. Hurt. Owwww.

Grant jerks back. His face hurts but luckily nothing is broken. There will only be a few bruises. (Thank god.) Grant glares at Beorn with genuine loathing. He wants to do something but nothing seems to work. However he decided to try again, this time trying to stab the dagger into the barbarian's side.

Pain. Dammit, be a tough man. Go on. Stand up. And if you're so tough why don't you have a sword? Ah, to late to think about these things now . . .

Grant tries to stand back up and with a little effort he does. His dagger still in hand he walks up behind Beorn and begins trying to cut Beorn's belt off. He knew it probably wouldn't make much of a difference but at lease it would take away the brutes endless supply of weapons.

Snapping his hand up to deflect the axe handle, he yelps as the heavy wooden shaft cracks against the bases of his index and pointer fingers. "You'll pay for that!"

He quickly shoves the small axe back into his belt and unslings a larger, two-handed version from his back. The two-hander is a massive, double-bladed monster which looks capable of cutting through a full grown ogre with one swing.

"No, you come here."

Miryam turns sharply to the side, the axe whizzing by her and tearing her tunic and grazing her skin. She swoops under the swung axe, leaping back up to her feet. She throws a quick glance at Amadeus, who exits the building, headed for the stables. She can't keep fighting with just a dagger. She nimbly retrives the discarded axe, swinging the handle stiffly at the base of Beorn's neck.

When she sees her horse outside the tavern, she quickly dashes out, hoping Beorn will follow her. Her hands go immediately to where Rengar's large, broad sword is kept and she yanks it out. It is, still, perhaps a little too heavy for her, but she can weild it better than the light touch of her mother's rapier. "Come on," she calls, "I'm not done playing!"

Rose gapes at Tarkin's story, letting out a sound akin to a whimper. "But—but no! You're not going to settle for that, are you?" she implores, horror-stricken. But then, she thinks to herself, if he stuck around for a bit, maybe one of us—maybe I could win that kind of devotion from him! If he can't be with her...

Then she adds, more gently, "I'm so sorry."

Saeven glances over her shoulder to where the brawl is breaking out in the inn. Oh, how bloody wonderful. "Humans," she mutters under her breath. Then, turning back to Deirdre, she asks, "Deirdre, will you let me tell you about what we are? Just let me explain? I won't hurt you, I promise. But I don't think," she glances back at the fighting pair, "we'll be able to talk just right now, right here."

He blinks in suprise as she evades his axe - women shouldn't do that, they can't fight! His suprise quickly turns to pain as her foot catches the back of his knee. Recovering his senses, he rolls forward with the blow, dodging the vicious dagger.

...Interesting.

Rolling again to face her, he grabs the other axe from his belt and send it flying towards her chest, followed by a slash from the held axe.

Ouch! Grant waits for peaceful oblivion. (Un?)fortunatly it doesn't come. He opens one of his eyes. He's still alive! Grand! He gets up from the ruble of the table. Owwwww. Everything seems to hurt. But being the tough man that he is he tries not to let it show. He must defend himself. He walks (with a slight limp, but sh! don't tell him, he's trying to be a touch man) over to where Miryam and Beorn are fighting on the floor.

Grant pulls out his dagger, cursing himself for his inability. However the action of pulling out the dagger makes him move his extremely sore shoulder. He winces and collapses on the floor, wishing he knew what to do. Tough men should know what to do. God dammit, he hurt. Grant backs away so he is not in Miryams way. If he cannot help he figures he should not hinder her efforts.

The second before the axe meets her, Miryam drops to the ground. She kicks vicously with all her strength, as she does, at the back of Beorn's knees, in hopes of knocking the tall, clumsy man to the ground. Her dagger, too, is out in a flash, flicking swiftly to his thigh, where she knows one of the major arteries is located.

Amadeus can no longer stay outside. Or as a cat. He enters the tavern as a large, tawny puma. His amber eyes watching the fight carefully. He will not interfere, not unless it is crutial.

Miryam smiles, a strange light in her eyes. This is better redemption than kneeling in a confessional, reciting a hundred Hail Mary's. Much easier, much more satisfying, to vent her anger on this brutish man. She stands, completely unafraid, the smile staying.

"You're right," she says after a moment, "I do owe you an appology. I'm most terribly sorry, m'lord, that there isn't anything beneath that kilt of yours."

Tarkin sits down slowly but doesn't start right away not really knowing where to begin.

"A long time ago I met this cat at a place that I was at for awhile..." he smiles slightly. "It turns out that the cat was actually a phooka and could change into a woman when she wanted to. Her name was Saeven and we were companions for awhile, as friends I mean. She disappeared once day and I thought I'd never see her again but then she found me again ine some land I was passing through. She told me that she was going to go back to her homeland... and she told me she loved me."

He pauses again wondering what he was thinking that day.

"I stupidly told her that I loved her but not in the way she wanted. So she left again. It's been about ten years since that day and I met her here today. I told her that I realized that I did love her but in order for her to leave her homeland she had to pay a price and so we can't be together..."

Annoyed that the little, dainty Grant is taking her fight—and that Beorn would pick on the poor guy!—Miryam aims a kick right between Beorn's legs, deftly avoiding Grant.

"Drop him, y'brute," she sneers, "I'm the one that insulted you. Come on, then, if you're going to fight!"

She keeps her hand steady, not yet reaching for the dagger hidden within her skirts.

"Try me," she says, her eyes gleaming. It's almost as though she's beginning to enjoy herself, as the smile stays hovering on her features. "If it would make you feel better about what's missing between your legs to tear apart someone half your size, and so obviously inferior, bring it on."

She makes a disdainful 'tch' sound, her green-and-gold hazle eyes glaring definately up at Beorn. "Then you shall be waiting some time, gelding," she tells him, a sharp, hard edge back in her voice, "unless you can force it from me."

He pushes Rose off him once more and struggles to his feet and snatches his pants back before Mary could do something like throw them out the window. Stumbling into his pants he tries to find his shirt before they catch him again.

Mary smiles as Tarkin is rather forced to stay and be a good boy. "I don't think you'd like to see us if we got angry. So do be a good handsome man and cooperate. We'll be more than apperciative."

Her hands quickly move to his pants. While Rose stays close to him, Mary quickly removes his pants. She had long ago learned that a man with no clothes usually wasn't going anywhere.

Rose moves swiftly, catching Tarkin in a fierce kiss as he sits up, using his motion as a catalyst. She puts her hands on his shoulders, pushing him back down on the bed, but not quite as gently this time. She holds the kiss until he's down, and stays very close to him.

"Oh, come now, we've been very good and very reasonable," now her pervious coy smile is replaced with one of mischief, "you don't want to make us angry, do you?"

"I'm not trying to be rude but for some reason I think there's a bit more than my well being that causing you to do this..." Tarkin says nervously.

He's not used to females being so stubborn about doing stuff like this. He gently moves Rose out of his way and sits up. He tries once again to rise and retrieve his shirt even though it's probably useless.

Rose sits down on the bed, pushing Tarkin gently down into a prostrate position. She looms over him a bit, so if he tries to get up he'll run into her first. Carefully, she removes his shirt, tossing it over on the other side of the room. She pouts a little as she runs her hand absently over his chest. "We are only looking out for your well-being, after all."

Mary imediatly moves to follow Tarkin. Quickly she places herself between him and the locked door. She looks at his rather pleadingly before putting her arms around his neck and pulling his face down to her. "Sir, you are being very rude. We are only trying to be sure you don't catch cold." She whispers in his ear before kissing his neck twice.

She removes her arms from around his neck and gently pushes his back to the bed, keeping his eye contact the entire time. Once he has been pushed back onto the bed she bends down and re-removes his boots. Once this is finished she sits down on the bed beside his, in a position where she can stop his immediatly if he tries to leave again.

Suddenly he snaps back to realizing what's going on in time to shove his boots back on and awkwardly stand up. He doesn't say anything for fear of them ensnaring him more. He reaches the door and tries to open it. He groans softly when he finds it locked.

"And I suppose you'll want to be comfortable," she adds, as she moves to take off his shirt. "No need to be shy, now, it's nothing we haven't seen before. Besides," she flashes a smile, "we're perfectly harmless."

Mary quickly and deftly enters the room and locks the door in an amazingly short amount of time. It's obvious she's very practiced at this. "I really don't think it's a good idea for you to go back out. We just couldn't forgive ourselves if you caught cold, stay here with us we promise to keep you warm." She says sweetly.

Mary winks at Rose. Before she bends down to dust off her skirt allowing Tarkin a very good view of her ample chest. She glances back up at him. "You know we'd really, really adore it if you kept us company for a while."

She stands straight a again but still looks up at him. "It isn't often that we get such a handsome young man here, you know. When one finally does we really can't help ourselves." She murmers innocently befor she leans up to gently kiss his cheek.

"She's right, you know," Rose agrees with nothing but pure innocence, "you might get sick. And we wouldn't want that, and neither would your friends, afterall! Here we are!" she declares happily as they come upon a small room with a big bed. She takes Tarkin by the hands, pulling him gently in, while giving Mary a 'close and lock the door behind you' look.

When they get in the tavern, Rose shoots Mary a look that says something like 'let's get this one straight upstairs,' and she promptly ushers Tarkin right past the bar to the stairs in the back corner.

"Just this way, then," she says with the same innocent sweetness, taking his cloak for him.

Mary walking about the bar notices the problem Rose is having outside. She leaves the bar and approaches Tarkin. "Wait for your friends? Don't be silly! I'm sure your friends won't mind if you come in and have a drink on us?" She smiles innocently at him before gently taking his arm and leading him inside.

Putting down the mug she was cleaning, she slips out. The first person she comes across is Tarkin, leaning against the wall.

In a dark corner, sitting at a table with a single chair, a figure broods over his mug of ale. The tabletop in front of him hold six other, empty (or mostly empty) mugs and a large stein.

He's dressed in a rather shabby off-white shirt (with poofy sleeves!), black breaches, and a dirty blue drape (or whatever the hell those things are called). A feathered cap lies at his feet. At his side is an ancient, slightly bent saber.

With a sigh, he gulps down the contents of the mug and slams it down on the table. In a hoarse voice, he growls "Wench, more ale. Now."

Saeven listens to the girl, confused at first. What was she saying about her family and the chapel and the priest...? Why would she have such close dealings with humans? Then it hits her. The harsh tone she had with the girl completely fades away into compassion and pity.

"Your human family? Tell me, Deirdre, are you a changeling? For you are no demon... and I won't make claim to whether or not we're evil," she adds with a bit of a smirk, "humans may very much think so. And I do not know what caused the deaths in that village, but I can assure you it wasn't you. We aren't quite so powerful. Then... you know nothing of what you really are?" she asks, sounding a little dazed, "a phooka?"

Miryam watches the strange woman talking to Deirdre. She's a little irked, at first, by the way she treated her. Deirdre was already so shy and timid... While the two continue their conversation, however, she glances at Tarkin, trying to get another look at him. Something about him seems so familar, yet so distant. She frowns, turning away. She really doesn't need to be involved in this "phooka"-thing, it's none of her business. Accidently, she runs into Beorn.

She takes a deep breath. Now was her time to explain herself, as she had been wanting to for so long...Although not quite in these circumstances.
"Long ago, my family cast me out, because of my power to change form...They were frightened, and rightly so." She begins quietly, but slowly gains confidence. "I wandered the land, and eventually found a small villiage to settle into... I was very content, but for too short a time, for after I built my small house at the edge of town, a sickness overtook them all, and nearly all of them died. I watched...I tried to help, but I could do nothing. In two weeks, I was the only one alive. I could not stay there, of course... A long time later, I dared to go into another town. I went to the chappel there, and confessed all my sins...I had confessed before, of course, but I had never told anyone of my power to change, or the way that I had hardly aged within the span of several people's lives...I told all this to the preist, and I told him that I suspected that I may have had something to do with the sudden deaths in my villiage. He did not absolve me... Instead, he revealed to me what I am, a deamon, an evil creature, and he cast me from his town. ...That is how I discovered what I - what we are." She sighs and looks away from Saeven, ashamed.
