I've started doing all my sites offline and only uploading them when the page is done and ready to go. That way, I have a backup of the site either on my zip drive or my hard drive... plus, I can play with the sites and edit everything without being online at all. I only go online to check e-mail, message boards, and surf. I have only 150 hours per month, but I don't think I've come anywhere near it because of the way I do stuff.

You might want to think about it as one option....
