- Need help from ID webbies! L@@k inside... -- Let me know what you think - Thanks, 07:53:55 04/15/03 Tue
My company has been vendoring for the last 2 years at feiseanna. I am unable to go out now because my mother/partner is not able to. We are wanting to develop our web page to be a commercial site for our ID products. I have tried to figure out how to make the necessary changes to our site and have quickly learned I am in over my head. My question is, would anyone be interested in bartering with us. We need help with our site to make it commercial with shopping carts, etc. We would be glad to barter equal value for your services and our products. We sell top quality solo dress bags, garment bags, shoe duffle bags, poodles, jewelry, and much more. Email me if you have any creative ideas.

- Hi, I have visited this board a couple of times out of interest but now I need some help. -- Colleen of Canberra, 17:22:14 02/25/03 Tue
I have just this year created my own website called "Colleens' of Canberra". An Irish dance website about dress designs and Irish dancing in Canberra, Australia. For the first time a TCRG has asked me to put on my website an entry form for our next feis. But I don't know how to do this. I can create a document in Photoshop and do a copy and paste and then resize the document to A4 but I'm worried this will take up too much bandwidth. I have noticed other organisations often send forms etc through Acrobat Reader (or something similiar) which opens up once someone clicks where the entry form is but I don't have a clue how to go about doing this! Can anyone help me please?

Feh, I've decided to (well, I've been wanting to, I've just finally gotten in "the mood" to) redesign Diochra.com. Am I crazy? Do I know what I'm doing? Well, at least I've given no promises as to time, just spurted out ideas...
Check www.diochra.com if you're curious as to what I'm babbling about. If it doesn't look different and blue, your computer will explode in five...four...three... no, really, just hold down shift and reload the page.

To Ashe and anyone else with a voy board, does anyone know how to get rid of these italics that have appeared on all of the voy boards since their system update? I find them too hard to read and want my danceagain board back to normal text but I can't find how to do it in the forun admin area. I can see that there are places to change the text itself and the colours but not the font. in the help pages it shows you the html to use to get normal text but doesn't tell you where to put it, not that I can see anyway.
Any ideas?

Has anyone ever done this?

I've been working on my site - changed all the pages around, and wanted to know what you thought about my Irish page - http://www.earthlydelights.com.au/Irish.html . I make dresses, if that isn't apparent when you visit. I'm trying to keep everything on 1 page, as the site is already full and overflowing with other stuff. I'm looking for 2 pictures to add to the top like on all my other pages - pictures paintings out of copyright that might feature Irish dancers from long ago.

I am trying to put a guest book on my site, and I don't understand this CGi business whatsoever. There are CGI scripts in my control panel, and when I try to put the one that is in html code on, it just shows up as an html code when I publish/preview it. Then there is an advanced one, and it says something about uploading the cgi_bin, and having to be a top level directory. But nothing I do works, because I created a new page that was solodresses.com/guestbook, and it still doesn't work. Sorry for the lengthy post, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

- email addresses, spam and viruses -- Lisa-DanceAgain, 18:35:35 01/20/03 Mon
Ok, this is my problem, as we all know there are many virus email doing the rounds at the moment in the I.D community as well as more spam than I care to mention. My problem is that with so many email addresses listed on my site, 200 in the dresses pages alone, that people are being sent infected emails almost as soon as their dress is listed.
Normally they have the usual subject line, happy to see you, a special file for you etc etc, but I have just been told by one of my sellers that she received an infected email with her dress number as the subject line. I code my email links so that the subject line automatically contains "Dance-Again dress #0000" so I can only think that someone has used the direct link on my site to send this infected email.
I saw on a site somewhere last year that you could mask email addresses so that these things that creep around stealing them don't recongise them as email addresses. One suggestion it gave is to make the email address into a jpg and download it onto the page as a picture file. The problem with this is..1. I don't want to now have to go and make and download over 200 jpg files! and 2. you can't make them clickable or it defeats the purpose. So people would have to type the address themselves into an email and this leads to typos and undelivered mail.
Sorry this is so long, but has anyone else ever tried something like this? It would be great if there was just some code I could add to the link that did something. Am I asking too much, has such a thing been invented yet!! :0)

Here's a question for you... as I was surfing today, I realized that there doesn't appear to be a webring or a clique for dancers with blogs. I'm going to try to format one up tonight and get it up, but I wondered which of the two formats you guys prefer (since I think we are all pretty much dancers with blogs....) Personally, I read a couple of blogs a day and I think it would be great to have a site that links directly to the blog (not just the website)!
Webring or Clique?
I'm leaning towards clique since it allows for a little more creativity.... but let me know what you all think.
I'll be sure to post/advertise later this weekend when it's done!
