It is possible to "embed" a font into a html page using CSS (another type of programming language, which effects the way HTML is displyed). But considereing this is an early attempt at web design I would start with the basics for now and build your way up.

My advice would depend on what you want to use the font for. If it's for the general text my personal opinion is don't bother. Use one of the standard fonts (Times New Roman, Arial, Verdana etc). I don't like trying to read sites in overly fancy fonts, it gets annoying. And I don't like being told I have to download a specific font.

And in my experience most people are the same. If they don't already have the font installed, or particularly want it then they won't bother with it, they'll view the site with the default font, which is usually Times New Roman.

Now if it's for certain parts of the site, such as a title, links etc. Make graphics. It's the best way to introduce a non-standard font onto a webpage. Most sites you see that use fancy fonts for headers etc will have created graphics of them. And an added plus is you have more control over what the text looks like in a graphics that you have over how the text will display in HTML.
