This sounds like what happens to me when I faint; everything goes black, my body drops out from under me and I collapse. It's weird you know it is happening, but it feels kind-of dream-like, until you open your eyes on the floor. Be careful, I once came close to collapsing over the dishwasher with butcher knifes sticking up in it. (this was due to meds at the time and I managed to cling to the cabinet knob until my mother helped me.)

I would advise getting this checked into specifically,
