I had a very similar thing going on when I had a herniated disc at c6c7 that is where the radial never begins I beleive. Could you possible have injured your neck recently?
It was an awful pain and I didn't sleep for weeks until I finally went to the drs. and was put on muscle relaxers and steroids. Of course then I had to have surgery but that's another story.
I hope it calmed down and you are feeling better!
