Just because someone drives a semi-expensive car (not so expensive in Hollywood where people do drive cars much more expensive). Brandon had very few assets ("very little money"). Assets is what are assessed when probate comes into play. He did not own his own home and even Eliza's engagement ring was not yet paid in full. He was doing decently as a up and coming star but he hardly was rolling in money like some people have suggested. He died without a will and his estate was not worth that much because his assets was very modest. The idea that Eliza received money from his estate is incorrect. Linda Lee Cadwell got the bond money from the insurance company not her.
