It might be a good idea to show up at the front door to collect. Just say you were in the neighborhood and thought you would stop by to get that check you were promised. I am sure this will be a great inconvenience to her, but remind yourself it is a great inconvenience for you to be out the money. You could go to small claims, but for a small amount such as that I would just forget it and forget her as a client too.
