Hi Barb,
I had the same problem and my husband also has his business in our home as well. It was getting too expensive to install another phone and we already had a different ring on our line for my sons(short 2 rings)number. I contacted my telephone company and had voice mail installed. Now we have three separate messages at our home phone number. When anyone calls us, they have a choice of pressing #1 (family),#2(pet sitter) or #3(husbands business). Its reeaaaalllllyyyyy great!!!! And, don't forget, when there is a power failure, we still have our messages! When using just the answering machine, we didn't get our messages due to power outage. Check it out! Hope this helps you.:)
