Carol,

I have had just a few experiences with birds and didnt watch any before them. I watch a cockateil and a cockatoo...same house. They are more time consuming than you think, at least these two are! But, in the end, I really bonded with the cockatoo...he is only about a year old, and he was fun and playful. I even took him out of the cage (owners request) and let him loose around the apartment. In the beginning I was nervous and didnt know how to handle birds, and now thanks to these wonderful owners (and patient!!!) I am soo much more comfy around birds.
Hope this helps!

Good luck!
Donna
