It really really depends on what KIND of birds. The big ones (African Grays, Amazons) can snap a finger easy and are VERY challenging. You really have to be careful with them. The little ones are too skittish to really interact with (like finches & parakeets)and are much easier. Just follow the owners instructions and you should do fine.

One caution... never ever use ANY kind of spray around them. I am sure they are not near the stove eiher, where fumes can get them.
