Gina,

Please don't make me get into this again with you, i am really worried it would just end with one of us being mad at the other one (and because i dont get mad as easily as you, all the more reason why i dont want to continue this discussion, i value our friendship too much for that!)

But look, of course you couldn't find anyone to disagree with you on this, you live in a relatively small, probably pretty religion-inclined town in Indiana, this is by no means a negative towards you at all but it shouldn't shock you that people around you see things the way you do, it's all about upbringing. Where i'm from, i know plenty of people who see things the way i see them (including my bf, even though grew up in extremely small town, far smaller than yours, and went to church as a kid, is in a lot of ways like Brad and when he got older, decided that religion is not for him...good thing too, i dont think we could ever be the soulmates we are otherwise, it's too big of a thing to look at differently. He actually is even less of a believer than i am, i actually do believe in God but an organized religion kind of God, just a higher "spiritual being" of sorts)

Anyway, the only other thing i will say is that wars DO start because of religion, greed is only a by-product. I can give you many examples, obviously the Great Crusades being the most famous one. Holocaust and the slaughtering of Jews, tell me how THAT was not religion-based. And hello, what we are experiencing in the modern age with terrorism in the middle east, 9/11, etc, is that not at the core of it about religion? And it's easy to blame it on the crazy Islamic fundamentalists but it's not only the Muslims that are fanatics...far from it. I really think that organized religion turns some people into unhealthy human beings, i am not saying the answer is complete lawlesssness and not having morals but as i already said, if everyone just believed in a "God" but not felt the need to impose a gazillion rules to their faith and just lived their lives honorably and let others do the same without trying to "save" anybody either, the world would truly be a better place.

Closing the can of worms now, thank you :)'
