Hey buddy,
Thanks so much for the article and the pic. First off, is it just me or did that article make practically no grammatical sense whatsoever in the language we call English? :) Whoever was translating it (from Spanish, probably) really needs some help, it took me 3 times of reading the same sentence to realize that sh&t was completely grammatically messed up LOL You can sort of get the jist of what its saying, but come on now, truly ridiculous, it's like this was translated by a broken computer that just threaded words together in no particular order....
Anyway, about the other comment that you posted. Can't say i blame this person for speaking out so passionately about it. He or she is clearly an architect and a hard working one at that. I can tell you right now, buddy, architecture is hard work and getting licensed is even harder (at least in this country) It doesn't pay nearly as cushy than careers in, say, finance do and we work just as hard. So of course people get a little bitter when someone like Brad who is just an "enthusiast" jumps over all the rules us "mere mortals" are subjected to, just because he's a celebrity. I do think that his involvement in projects brings it the type of exposure nothing else does and that's his biggest power but i also agree with this person that if he really cared about architecture, he would start from scratch and get a degree and truly learn about it more than just on the surface. That's sort of the one thing that i think i would love to ask him if i ever had a chance to meet him in person - if he would ever consider doing that, maybe after he eventually retires from acting at least... So yeah, this person is spot on about all this, it really sucks for qualified architects when Brad gets involved with his star wattage (unless they happen to catch Brad's eye somehow and be a part of his design team) It's funny, at the firm where i used to work 3 years ago, i remember we were being considered for a resort in Turks and Caicos...along with a few other firms, one of which had Brad attached to them (or rather, they were attached to his name, obvioisly LOL) And big surprise, we didnt win the project. I mean, to be fair, the firm where i used to work wasn't that amazing and i dont think their presentation was that great but now i'm sort of curious to know who did win the selection, wouldnt surprise me at all if it was the firm that had Brad's involvement on the ticket...the sad reality is, that these type of projects care a lot about the bottom line and the bottom dollar and Brad can bring something to the table no amount of talented architects can: exposure. And more often than not, that's all that matters. But i do wish he wouldn't just sidestep years of other people's hard work just because he's a big star with money in his pockets...
But anyhow, on that note, here's a pic from People.com of Brad visiting this site

Good seeing you on here, it's been quite in Brad land for the last couple of weeks, but glad to see there are things here and there that can be talked about :)
hugs,
Myst
