Nothing big and crazy planned on this end, we are just going to probably have a nice brunch somewhere and go to dinner. So lots of good food and maybe a a little romance ;) It's funny but i dont really care all that much about Vday, i used to get really gung ho about it but now i'm just like whatever. My boy gave me flowers last week for no reason, just surprised me with them, a dozen white roses, and that to me was so much sweeter than the obligatory bullshit of Valentine's Day. Our 1st Valentine's Day was a bit of a disaster, lemme tell ya. THere was a crazy blizzard that night, kind of like what we had here a few days ago but on the same night as V-day. Nobody was out, we should've just ordered in and had a romantic dinner at home but i wanted our first Vday together to be really special so i dragged him out in that weather. First, we nearly had a fight because i got stuck in traffic trying to get to the meet up place because cars were barely moving with that snow and he had to wait for me for nearly 20 mins, outside. Then, we went to some overpriced place and paid a small fortune for cheese fondue with chocolate fondue for dessert (i really had a specific thing i was craving for dinner and that was fondue! hehe i felt bad so we went dutch on it). Afterwards, we were so full from all that heavy food, not to mention cold getting back in all that snow, we could barely make it home, let alone have energy for a different type of dessert ROFLMAO It was so ridiculous, i promised myself i will never make such a big deal over Valentine's Day ever again. The following year was perfect, he cooked dinner for me at my place and then for dessert we went to a cafe on Upper WEst Side that was featured in the movie You've Got Mail (with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks) it's called Cafe Lalo and is pretty famous, next time you're in NY, i must take you there, their desserts are to die for :)
So this year i think i will also not go overboard, will probably pick a good place for brunch since it's Sun and then we'll play it by ear....
How about you and your hubby, what are your plans?
