Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie snub the Hollywood game ... kinda

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie made headlines when they snubbed Ryan Seacrest at the Golden Globes.

Some days they feel like the spotlight – some days they don't.

What gives Brangelina? It seems like the famously photogenic power couple just can't make up their minds when it comes to mugging for the camera.

One day they're selling images of their newborns to celebrity tabloids – and the next, they're snubbing talk show hosts on the red carpet.

The twosome raised eyebrows at the Golden Globes Sunday when they blew past peppy E! News host Ryan Seacrest.

"I can't. I can't. I gotta get inside," Brad Pitt told Seacrest and other reporters as he made a beeline for the ceremony.

Angelina Jolie famously gave Seacrest the cold shoulder at the 2006 Globes when he asked what she'd fed her children for breakfast that morning. "Cereal - we made cereal," was her curt response.

Despite repeatedly selling photos of their children – and even sharing intimate images of their new twins in an extensive W magazine spread (the cover image showed Angelina breastfeeding) Pitt and Jolie continue to say they're just not into the Hollywood game.

So can they really have it both ways?

Experts say no way.

"Everyone is in Hollywood because they choose to be in it. No one is famous there if they don't want it," says Ian Drew, a senior editor for Us Weekly. "They ask for it and they're definitely all in on the game."

Pitt, who gladly poses alongside his lady love on the red carpet or chats about his family when he's promoting a film, is often less than thrilled when he's photographed unexpectedly, according to X-17 owner Frank Navarre.

"Brad Pitt is somebody who is obsessed with it. He's OK if he's comfortable, is on a motorcycle or is well-dressed," Navarre says. "But if you get him without him knowing it, he's furious."

Pitt stressed the need for privacy at a star-packed Golden Globes afterparty on Sunday, Navarre says, demanding an umbrella to shield him from photographers while fellow celebs Christina Applegate and Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes simply went with the flow.

But Pitt and Jolie aren't the only ones who want to pick and choose their star moments.

After years of strict silence, Pitt's ex Jennifer Aniston happily talked about their former relationship while promoting "Marley & Me." Low-key Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon rehashed life after divorce while promoting a holiday film, and tween star Miley Cyrus, who is often friendly with the paparazzi, will have her parents step in if she's having an off day.

"You make that choice whether you want to achieve that tabloid level of fame. [Stars] don't like it when they don't control it and thus profit from it," Drew says.

It's all part of the star territory, he adds, noting, "everything is money and it's all a business."

Stars end up profiting from exposure regardless, he says, and they can command a higher salary if they're repeatedly featured in the media.

The next generation of stars are more savvy than their older counterparts, according to Navarre: "Miley Cyrus, Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens - they're really the ones who know how to use us."

Those who claim they just want privacy might want to consider a new occupation, says Drew.

"If you really wanted to be left alone and wanted your privacy you'd move to North Dakota, live on a farm and not do this anymore."

Brangelina has holed up in France, only to reappear for press tours and awards ceremonies. But they can't have it all.

Says Drew: "There's a price to be had."

tsk, tsk, tsk they created this bad press. they should of stopped to talk to him, if even for a few moments instead of ignoring him completely. At least they are reporting Brad "at least" acknowledged him. Of course Jolie and her BAD behavour have to overflow onto Brad. *snicker*
