bbl=Be back later and here I am.

I remember from the time I was a little girl the celebrities speaking of the problems in Africa. The commercials showing the children starving to death and covered with flies. Sally Struthers was the spokesperson and was asking for 1 dollar a day to save a life. So, I don't think that is anything new in Hollywood or since the birth of Brangelina. Even though I think she wants to be the "great one" who draws attention to it, that has been something that started long ago here in the states.

Elvis was in a league of his own when it came to his public image because so many people loved him for the Southern boy he was. His music and his talent effected so many people on a personal level. And I do believe not until he died did we know how much he truly gave.Is that right Terry? Elvis never felt the need to surround his image about the charities he supported.I don't remember it if he did.

You said, "I have never heard a celeb say 'I spent one million $ for this and that'.

Jolie has said it. She speaks out about how she gives a third of her salary. Brad has too, when he bought the hospital beds for the earthquake victims. They want the public to know when they give. Some want the awards. Did you hear that George and Don won a Peace award for their work in Darfar? I suppose if these celebrities work so hard for these causes, they deserve all the hype they create. But, I have a feeling there are not so famous people being overlooked for the work they give, who should be honored, but aren't just because they won't gain the media attention. It isn't right I my opinion, and even though it is the world we live in, doesn't make it right.

The media is all we have to create opinions about celebrities. What is interesting to me is how we all precieve it differently. That is why it is interesting discussing it. Maybe it is good that we see things differently Terry. We were sent to help each other see both sides of it. *wink*
