So the fighters are going to pay between fifty and six hundred dollars a year to fight for the CFL.I still do not quite understand what they get for their money. Also what kind of compensation will the fighters receive for fighting?Even for an amature, it's insane to have to pay to fight.
" Admission is free. The seats are ticketed (because of fire coding)but they are free. This allows for larger fanbase to be built very quickly, and if a fighter has a good "crowd personality" they can develop their own individual fanbase quickly."Now maybe I'm just a little stupid, but it sounds like you are trying to make money a little backwards. If the event is free to the spectators,I'm guessing you are expecting to make your money off the fighters. If that is the case, you are an asshole. If that is not the case,I don't understand were the money to hold the events will be coming from. Now the guy that is paying fifty a month gets access to a training facility witch is a good deal, however what does the guy that gives you fifty dollars a year get?The right to fight? That is insane!
Now again maybe I just do not understand. But it sounds like you are the kind of guy that I was afraid was going to surface when MMA became legal in NC.I can not think of any justification to charge a fighter to fight in an event. They are who the spectators are coming to see. This whole thing just sounds f_ _ked to me.

Billy,
Let me make something VERY CLEAR. In no way is the CFL going to screw over ANY one. I will NOT allow that.

I can tell by your post that you are not attacking us- you are just trying to to understand what we are doing. Please also understand that I am not attacking you, so if it sounds that way-just know that is not the intent.

The first thing to understand about the fight league is that we are NOT a fight club or a fight team. We are a league.

Please do not confuse us with just being an event. As you know most events run something like this..the fighter signs up, only the fans that pay can watch the fights, the fighters fight and then its over. Ususally, the event will do nothing else for the fighter. If the CFL was just an event, then that would be all we do as well. But we are more than an event.

We are trying to provide a one stop shop for MMA fighters, we plan to help promote them, be THE place that promoters check first when they bring a fight to town, keep fighters up-to-date on any rule changes, provide a place for the trainers and managers to meet. The reason our events are free is because it provides a better way to get fans in the door. The way we will make the money is advertising and vendor rental space off the backend.

We honestly believe the only way that we will make it is to provide top quality fighters and events. If we do not take care of our fighters then we will most certianly fail. The $50 a year is like an assocition fee to the various services that we offer. I hope this helps.

Thanks,
Ron Cooper
