i have seen my order with the garage in Belgium. it was in my name, with my address. i did not see any reference to Automodena on this paperwork

In that case you seem to be in luck. I don't see how the liquidators can lay any claim to any money that might have found its way to the dealer and you ought to be able to proceed with the transaction.
