(He let out a soft breath as she ran her hand over his head, his eyes searching hers for a moment. She had taken the job on to keep herself busy, he was sure, since she had gone through so much in the past month and he knew she was feeling overwhelmed to say the least. At least under his affectionate attention he had seen a vast improvement in her daily attitude, although he could only infer that from the time he spent with her, he had no idea how she had been feeling on her own. He trailed a hand over her arm lightly and brougt his gaze back to her.) I think it looks great. (He said and shifted in an almost automatic manner when he heard the heavy footfalls of the dogs on the porch, knowing that the almost absentminded Colt would have realized he was there, and that he should prepare for the oversized male's greeting.. sometimes the dane forgot how large he was in his need to say hello. Sure enough, two large paws landed on his hip and had he not been prepared he would have been knocked off balance. He shifted an arm around the large dog and accepted a few sloppy kisses before announcing enough was enough and pushing Colt down with a pat to his head. He smirked as he wiped the dog slobber from his cheek and shook his head.) I met Adam and Shane down at the courthouse.. needed a couple of backers as to my mental capabilities. (He said with a short laugh.. Adam and Shane were another partnership they had worked with in the field when they had been together in the agency.. neither of them were real stable - partiers when it came down to it.) They convinced me to join them for a beer, though it just wasn't as much fun to be around them so I bailed out early.
