Your prayers have been heard JP, lol. I heard today that the Rangers were denied permission to talk to Towers. I am on the Dombrowski bandwagon, maybe because I have witnessed as he has continually gotten the better out of the Rangers in various trades. I am not so sold on John Hart. While I appriciate what he built in Cleveland, how hard is it to put together a winner when you have bottomless resources? Are there any big contributers on the Indians roster that they drafted? I am thinking no, but I could be wrong.
And speaking Duesh-quette. He had a similar deal with the Rangers this year when he traded Justin Duscherer to the Rangers to get 3rd string catcher Doug Mirabelli. To make room for Mirabelli the Red Sox waived their back-up catcher Marcus Jensen, who the Rangers promptly picked up. While Duscherer didn't have the year that Tankersly did, he was still quite impressive and might have a future here. When Rusty was trying to rehab an injury, he played in AA, and came back with glowing reports of Duscherer. Said he had unbelievable poise and mound presence. So while I don't want Hart here, I will set fire to any and all Rangers related items I own (except my Pudge Beanie, hehe) if for some reason the Rangers new GM ended up being Dan Duquette.
