but with her son still in DC maybe she wanted to be closer to him. What I find so disheartening is that she knew full well what happened to Samantha and yet never told Mulder. It could have saved him a lot of hospital visits, injuries, ridicule, etc. But the he wouldn't have met Scully so I guess it was better that she didn't tell him anything.
