Subject: Exercise - Characterisation

Here's an exercise for all those who need to get to know their characters better.

To write it:

Think of 10 things that your character could be, such as

-colour
-precious stone
-make of car
-item of clothing
-part of the body
-breed of dog
-fruit
-type of building
-tree

etc.

Then consider each one carefully "If my character were a boat, what boat would he/she be?" and give an answer that says as much about the character as possible.

To review it:

Read the list and write a short summary of everything you learned about the character.

Have fun!

Z.
