Break a Nail! Chip a Mancire! and Suggestions to Consider!

To begin with .......

Not knowing how to take care of your hands. Get educated!

Not taking care of your hands daily. Develop daily hydration and maintenance routines! BE CONSISTENT!

Not wearing protective gloves when hands & nails are exposed to water and chemicals. Wearing gloves should be a habit at the sink and when doing household chores!

Using emery boards or a diamond deb file...pebbles on a stick.. and filing improperly. Keep your file(Amera) square to the nail tip as you file. Use your Amera File/Buffer. Carry a set in your purse!

Cutting or chipping nails when they are dry. Trim nails ony after soaking or bathing. Looking at your palm, use fine scissors to trim away excess length while using the pad of the finger as your pattern.

Using acetone remover, using removers more than once a week, and not rinsing remover residue off of
nails will dry out nails. Immediately after using remover rinse nails at te sink. Dry around nails and then proceed with manicure. If your nails have a tendency to become dry this is very important.

Using cuticle removers to remove excess cuticles. Do you think you matrix is saying, "MMM give me more of that stuff!" I don't think so! Use your Hand & Nail Brush and Cuticle Softener.

Cutting, clipping, or pushing cuticles back with excessive force can traumatize the matrix (white spots on the nails in a few weeks is evidence of that). Be gentle whenever you are working around your cuticles and new nails.

More tomorrow.
