Take a multi vitamin/mineral supplement daily.
Exercise (do aerobics to burn calories/fat and toning to gain muscle so the muscle will burn calories/fat)
Drink lots of water
Vary your foods (don’t eat the same thing every day)
Vary your calorie intake (keeps your metabolism high because it doesn’t know what you’re doing)
Avoid things that don’t agree with you (even if that diet pill works, if it makes your heart race, stop)
Stop when you’re doing something excessively (100 laxatives a day won’t help and can harm)
Eat fruits and veggies (of course)
Measure your progress but use it as only a measure, don’t obsess.
Don’t be upset (at least try not to be) when you gain weight. Could be that time of the month, lack of water (causes water weight), extra salt, etc.
All clothing manufacturers make up their own sizing chart. One pair of jeans may fit you in different sizes depending on brands, find the size you like (for now).
Someone else may be thinner then you (smaller boned, naturally, etc.) accept that fact and move on.
Don’t believe it when people say you’re too thin. If you’re walking around at a low weight, you’re at your perfect weight. They probably have some mental problems to deal with. Ignore them.
Don’t believe it when people say you’re too fat. Usually they’re fatter then you, jealous you can lose weight, or they have some mental problems to deal with. Ignore them.
The number of the scale is just that. A number. Use it as a guide.

Reward your self with nonfood. You deserve something for yourself. Even 99 cent nail polish.
Do things that are good for you. Even if that’s doing something good for someone else.
Take life one day at a time. Even one moment at time.
You can start over right now. Whatever you thought you might have done wrong, you can start over right now.
Keep a diary/journal (on line or on paper). It’s a free shrink.
Live your life. Don’t wait to be perfect. Life happens when you’re sitting around waiting for it to happen or for the perfect moment.
Don’t expect perfection all at once. It won’t happen right now. It takes time.
