Donnajeanne Goheen?/ RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!
by Judy Miller

Mark Lambert from Rocky Delgadillo's has asked me to forward him any alleged schemes which might take undue advantage of actors, and young performers in particular. They're actively investigating all complaints. Sounds like this might very well qualify.

By the way, when Laura Adler called and pulled out of this weekend's pay-to-play showcase event, Donnajeanne told her that she knew nothing about the state guidelines. This is a brazen lie, as I posted that info on DonnaJeanne's BBS many months ago, and she and I had a long talk about the Declaratory Judgment, the guidelines contained in it, and the implications it might have on her business. She was specifically told that the showcase events she was producing violated state labor laws. Yet it's apparent that she did nothing to change the way she does business to conform with the law.

Parents of young SAG performers should also be concerned that Ms. Goheen's showcases facilitate the violation of SAG Rule 11, and that members who pay these casting directors for the opportunity for potential employment may be fined or disciplined by the Guild for what is considered "conduct unbecoming a member".

Anyone feeling as though they have been lied to or taken advantage of by anyone representing themselves as a teacher, manager, career consultant, etc. or that the money they have spent for services were misrepresented to them, or parents believing that child labor or housing laws may be being violated should contact the City Attorney's office and file a complaint. Doing so will help protect others from being exploited or abused.

Here's Mark's info:
