>>> I don't think pulling in the right arm will work for anyone.

It works for me (and apparently for others that use the Gerry Hogan technique).

>>> When you pull in the right arm you pull in the right hand and the left hand as well. This causes you to bend the left arm, the opposite of what it should be doing.

Pulling with the right only bends the left arm if you let it. As I said I extend with the left and pull with the right to 'lever the club' (exert a torque).

>>> If you try to keep the right elbow as far from right shoulder as possible it pushes the left arm straight, how it should be.

I don't understand your right arm distance from right shoulder statement. Your right elbow is at the end of your upper arm. Isn't this a fixed distance?

>>> Yes I have but what does that have to do with this discussion?

A point in my original post was a request for others to share data from their own video analysis:

"I'd be curious about the results of any here who have done frame by frame analysis of their swings."

If you don't want to share that is certainly your choice.

Summary -

I have results (video, range, course) that this works for me. Those results have proved repeatable and are not refutable. There may be alternate explanations for why this works but those must be reconciled with the actual activity.

I am happy to answer any questions to clarify what I do and how I do it, but it is pointless to tell me what I do does not work when the results are there. There are critiques you could offer that have merit and are not counter the results to date. e.g. This is not a technique that will be consistent over time because of the inability to apply consistent levering force shot to shot.

When a scientist does an experiment and gets results that do not match their theory they can either ignore them, or look for the source. In some of the most interesting cases a new theory develops.

I am curious about the source but will take advantage of the result regardless.

I share this experience because if I had known this earlier, I would have benn able to experience the benefits sooner and I would be further along my personal path. After all - isn't that why we're all here?

Peter
