Glad it helped. Some interesting tactical decisions sometimes come up when using troops mounted on halftracks.

Yes, I bet! :-)

Folks should consider when and whether HT passengers should be "CE." Except in the case where the HT must move past an adjacent hex with a two-level height advantage (generally a multi-story building or a cliff hexside), those HT passengers are not exposed to enemy fire unless they choose to be.

At the SL level they only need to be CE when they fire, they will only be CE in the enemy fire phase following their own firing or in the hex immediately before an overrun combat. And both of these choices are optional. An HT with passengers _can_ move through an enemy occupied hex without making an overrun attack.

At the CoI level (and beyond) the passengers in an HT (or crew of any AFV) must change their status (to CE or to BU) either sometime during the Movement Phase or during the advance phase. Again, choosing to be CE is entirely optional, per the player's decision.

So, while playing Lars Clausen's "Gimme That Map" there should have been an option to just keep the heads down and drive straight for the board edge. Unless there were other issues, like an enemy infantry unit standing in the road that needed to be eliminated so that following trucks could drive through the hex! :-)
