>>ALPHA (Forced March) RUSSIAN DECISIONS:

I've played my first ftf with alplha 0 and played the Russians. Played a defensive group of 4 squads+8-0 ldr to m7(or m6 can't remember...woods hex near farmhouse) and tried to run the remainder down to i1 and i2. Still had trouble running the 7 squads out the j exit. Rolled a 2 for my leader on a morale check and went berserk, but with no squads. After the leaders suicide run into 9-2,3x467 it was all downhill.

In a previous solitaire effort I had tried to exit five squads+ldr through p and 6 through j. The division was tragic for the group without the leader. I'd like to try this strategy again and commit only 4 units without the leader over to p and then try and use my numbers+ldr advantage to muck through what I can out j via i1 and i2. Certainly with greater numbers stacked up ready to move out j this will force the Germans to make a bigger commitment on that side. If I can slip out those units via p with this diversion then slipping one or two from the remaining 7 might not be so bad. Any thoughts?
